Portals let you use gravity to your advantage
Flash Game Review - Portal

8/24/08 - Portal: The Flash Version is based on Valve's Portal, released in 2007 as a part of the Orange Box. Something that many might not be aware of is that Portal itself was an redone version. The game was based on an award winning, independently developed game called Narbacular Drop (which is a free download).

The Flash Portal is very similiar to it's namesake. You recieve a gun in the beginning which allows you to place two differently colored portals. When you step through one of the portals you come out the other. Increasingly difficult challenges are put before you, which you must solve using only your wits and teleporting ability. There is also a lot of running, jumping, and barely landing on a faraway platform.

While it may sound gimmicky it actually works pretty well in both versions. More suprising is how well the Flash game captures the fun of the 3D version. As someone who owns the console version of Portal, I can say I've played more of the Flash version than the actual game.

Overall, it's very well done. The game looks, runs, sounds, and feels great. It basically rivals platformers from the old Sega & Nintendo systems, which says a lot. I recommend this game for anyone who hasn't already played it. Play "Portal: The Flash Version" here.
