... and Fracture 2: Infection said, "Let there be paint."
Flash Game Review - Fracture 2: Infection

4/12/08 - Fracture 2: Infection is a retro shooter made by Tommoor. It takes place in a box where enemies spawn from different corners, and your job is to move around and shoot them before they can catch you. The longer you stay alive the more enemy types you'll see, and the more powerful your weapons will get.

What stands out most about Fracture 2 are its visuals. The whole game has this kind of splattered paint theme and it's very well done. From the starting menu to the marks enemies leave, you become acquainted with many types of paint splatters while playing this game. There are also several effects, for example the screen will shake at certain times and when certain enemies die. This makes the game feel that much more intense and reactive.

The enemies are pretty varied, and all have their own personalities. Some will barrel through a certain path, while others will follow you and react in weird ways to your movement. Visually they all look cool, and their designs seem to match their personalities.

As for its cons, well there is a certain amount of lag when a lot of stuff starts happening onscreen. It wasn't unplayable for me, but I don't know if that'd be the case on older computers. Also I think the control scheme could have been greatly improved by using the mouse to aim instead of the keyboard. The game is still fun, but it's just confusing when you want to shoot a certain direction and have to figure out the right keyboards buttons to press when you are already using one hand to move your ship around.

Overall, if you want some mindless action with very cool visuals and have some time to kill, I highly recommend this game!
